How accurate is the estimate?

The shipping estimate is based on USFans' real shipping routes and historical data. In most cases, the final shipping cost may vary within ±5–10% due to factors such as: Volumetric weight vs. actual weight; Final package dimensions after consolidation; Route availability and carrier adjustments. We always aim to keep the final cost as close as possible to the estimated amount. Any significant difference will be confirmed with you before shipment.

What is volumetric weight?

Volumetric weight is a standard shipping calculation used by carriers to reflect how much space a package occupies, not just how heavy it is. It is calculated as: Length × Width × Height (cm) ÷ 6000. The chargeable weight is the higher value between the actual weight and the volumetric weight. This method is commonly applied to lightweight but bulky items, such as shoes, clothing, bags, or boxes with large packaging. Entering package dimensions helps us provide a more accurate estimate.

Prohibited & Restricted Items

What items are prohibited or restricted from shipping? Certain items are prohibited or restricted due to airline regulations, customs policies, or safety requirements. These items may not be accepted for shipping, or may require special arrangements. Commonly restricted or prohibited items include: Liquids, powders, pastes, and gels; Fragile items made of glass or ceramics; Screens, monitors, and large glass panels; Items containing batteries, especially loose or high-capacity batteries; Food, supplements, and perishable goods; Prohibited, illegal, or infringing items; Items without proper or safe packaging. Important notice: If a parcel contains prohibited or restricted items without prior confirmation, it may be delayed, returned, seized by customs, or destroyed, and such cases may not be covered by shipping insurance. Customs Clearance Issues

What happens if there are customs clearance issues? Customs clearance is handled by local authorities in the destination country. In some cases, a shipment may be delayed, inspected, or held by customs due to reasons such as: Additional documentation or information required; Duties or taxes pending payment (for non-DDP routes); Local import regulations or random inspections. If a customs issue occurs, USFans will assist in communicating with the logistics provider and help relay the required information to you. Important notes: For DDP routes, customs duties and taxes are already included. In most cases, no action is required from the recipient. For non-DDP routes, the recipient may need to cooperate with customs, submit documents, or pay applicable duties and taxes. Delays caused by customs inspections or local regulations are generally outside the control of the shipping provider. If a parcel is seized, returned, or destroyed by customs due to prohibited items, false declarations, or refusal to cooperate, such cases may not be covered by insurance.
